Thoughts on Afghanistan

Many people are wondering how can we help Afghanistan? How do we respond? Here are my thoughts on how we can process what is happening based on wisdom from the scriptures.
1.) Avoid saying “I can empathize”
Avoid saying “I can empathize” to what is happening in Afghanistan. We have no idea what our afghan friends are going through.
2.) Avoid attempts to answer “why?”
Instead, let’s direct our thoughts and emotions towards conducting an internal assessment of our hearts.
“Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:23
3.) Pray Boldly
Boldly approach the throne of God in prayer on behalf of the Afghan people.
“The Lord is far from the wicked,
but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” Proverbs 15:29
4.) Practice Thanksgiving
Embrace your kids, invite them into prayer – and thank God for the freedom to do these things.
