Already |———————————| Not Yet
With the world seemingly falling to pieces around us (the travesty in Afghan is just one example), where do we find ourselves on the continuum of history? The answer is somewhere between the already and not yet.
As you listen to the following podcast, try to determine where you would place a red x marking the times we live in. Regardless of where that falls, Scripture offers tremendous longings that give us hope in the interim. My favorite three longings are:
- “How long, O Lord, how long?” Ps. 6:3
- “Though weeping may last through the night, a shout of joy comes in the morning!” Ps. 30:5
- My prayer, as taken from Joel 2:1 and 1st Thess. 4:16: Sound the trumpet in the east dear Lord; please sound the trumpet in the east.
Above all, I’d invite all who are in Christ to join me in earnest expectation of declaring “oh wow” at His return, or a more heavenly rendition thereof.
